Elevate your drop cloth

If you have a workshop in the garage, install a few wooden or metal racks for holding dirty rags. Such racks are also convenient places to keep drop cloths so you won't lose them and need to buy new ones the next time you change your oil or paint your walls. Racks can be used to hold most large drapeable items for easy access when you're doing yard work or cleaning the garage.

Cork it

Corkboard is functional for the garage because it's so versatile. You can stick many things on corkboard, from blueprints to instructions for making that birdhouse you've been wanting to find time to work on. All the paperwork will be out of your way but accessible. You can purchase cork-board in any home improvement or discount retail store. Make sure to keep the pushpins out of the reach of children.
